Opening night is all about breaking the ice. Grab a refreshing cocktail, enjoy an appetizing bite and mingle.  The Welcome Reception provides an excellent opportunity to network, meet old colleagues, collaborate with existing ones, as well as make new connections.  This fun and casual soiree is the official kickoff to the DireXions 2019 conference.

An in depth look at the latest features and enhancements added to the core PxPlus language. Learn about the spell checker improvements, enhanced grid controls, security and core language features to name a few.  We will cover a lot of new functionality that we are sure you will find useful in your development environment.

What's New in NOMADS
Learn about the improvements to the NOMADS Designer and related toolset for the PxPlus 2019 Release. Highlights include a new Pointer Control for NOMADS+, enhancements to NOMADS Controls, easier to define Shape Controls, new properties added to Themes and Visual Class definitions, dealing with Global Elements in the Data Dictionary as well as sorting in Query Web Services.

Data Protection & Using a Relational Database
Learn about the new industry standard encryption features of PxPlus and how to leverage them to enhance your own applications security. We will also discuss a faster internal SHA256 hashing function now available as well as chunked hashing option for large data when using the internal hashing functions. Finally we will show you how to take advantage of the new Database Conversion utility to quickly and easily migrate your PxPlus data into relational databases.
Simplify Coding Using Enhanced Data Classes
Data Class related enhancements will be covered – including usability changes in Data Class Maintenance, dealing with Data Classes in Library Bulk Edit as well as assigning Data Classes in the Report Writer. Learn how to use the ‘Extended Class Validation and Display’ options to validate any entry field in your application against a data file. We’ll review the new ‘Populate from a Data Source’ functionality that allows you to load any drop box or list box control from a data file and specify what values are displayed and returned when selected.

Building Smartphone Applications with PxPlus
Join us for a detailed step by step session where we will cover topics, such as, smartphone design considerations and templates for mobile applications. We will also show you how to seamlessly display new panels designed to look and work like native smartphone applications.

Charting 101
Learn about the new feature rich “Plus” charting object designed to not only replace the existing Windows Charting control, but to add the capabilities of printing charts to PDF files, creating images, and generating responsive HTML charts. Join us as we learn about the new charting options and how you too can use this object to create charts of your own.
Smart Charts & Query+ Enhancements
Learn how to automatically load your Smart Charts without writing a single line of code, using data generated by Query+ and AutoChart definitions. Also, explore the many new Query+ features, including Query Profiles which allow the end user to customize, save, and recall different column and filter settings.

Excel & Word Object Features
Watch a demonstration of the latest Excel and Word object enhancements. Both objects allow more options when specifying any color parameter. The Excel object now has two useful properties for determining the last populated row and column. It is also considerably faster when dealing with data in a range. The Word object has new methods for handling paragraphs and individual sentences as well as inserting and appending outside files.
File Maintenance Wizard
This new wizard will step you through the creation of new maintenance and inquiry only panels based on the Data Dictionary and Data Classes. The drag and drop interface means designing panels has never been easier. You can even additional text or horizontal lines. The Preview capability will allow you to review the new panel, prior to saving. Use the Template feature to create a consistent look and feel, whether it’s a single screen layout or one with multiple folders, or even the smart phone layout.

PxPlus Apps for iOS & Android
In this session we will explore the two approaches to running PxPlus iNomads and web applications as a mobile app. As a developer you will learn how to setup a PxPlus iNomads and web application to run on the PxPlus App Launcher. We will also cover how the user would use the app to launch your PxPlus iNomads and web application. We will teach you how to generate your own app that points directly at your PxPlus iNomads and web application. We will also discuss how to test and publish the generated app. The PxPlus App Launcher and the generated mobile app work the same once setup and we will discuss its features.
Spriten up Your Application
PxPlus 2019 added new features that make adding and manipulating Sprites through Nomads easy. At this session, we will walk you through the steps required. Two different applications will be presented and will be used to showcase how to use Sprites to simplify and improve your user interface.
